In addition, a highly robust alloy casting is used to form a positively sealed junction between the specialist hose above and the air filter assembly. This Safari cast alloy component also delivers a very durable mounting point for the snorkel outlet hose for the greatest protection against vibration in harsh terrain - and super tough to withstand high under-hood temperatures.

In fact, the engine bay layout essentially remains unchanged for the maximum compatibility with other aftermarket accessories such as dual batteries etc. This ensures that the Ford Ranger owner has the most flexibility possible in terms of installing additional under-hood accessories.

Huge air flow is but one aspect of the ultimate in snorkel design. The Safari air ram is designed to perform two very important roles. Not unlike the UV rating of sunblock creams on humans; the UV number applied to Plastics being exposed to the sun's UV rays, indicates the level of protection and consequently, life of the snorkel. In order to deliver the 20 plus year life expected of Safari Snorkels, a specially compounded material is used to result in a rating of at least UV20. This contrasts markedly to other brand snorkels manufactured outside Australia. Even when these foreign snorkels use material sourced from quality major international suppliers, (such as Mobil Exxon), the finished product typically has a UV rating of only 8 - far short of the UV20 rating required for long snorkel service life.
